About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

A uniformed position that requires co-ordination and management of the operational Fire Safety activities of the Fire and Rescue Services across South / North Directorate.

The Coordinator of Fire Operations (South/North) has the principle accountability to ensure that all credible Fire and Emergency Scenarios for the Directorate are known, understood and exercised at regular basis.

Focal point to assist Directorate with upkeep, development and Gap management of the Asset Pre-Incident Plans (PIPs).

Education & Experience

A bachelor's degree in a Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent.

Certifications (continued and up to date) according to NFPA 1001 (level 1 and 2) and NFPA 1021 (Fire Officer 1 & 2) or others approved by the Chief Fire Officer (CFDH).

Qualified as an experienced firefighter in all aspects of Aviation, Domestic and Industry firefighting.

Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Firefighting

Formal qualification for TA-3 Operational Fire Safety

Proficiency in Arabic and English (Spoken and Written)

Main Responsibilities

The Coordinator of Fire Operations (South/North) has the principle accountability to ensure that all credible Fire and Emergency Scenarios for the Directorate are known, understood and exercised at regular basis.

Manage multiple (4-6) Fire Response Teams in the Directorate, by ensuring required Drills/Exercises, Implementation of PDO corporate requirements & Documentation, and managing the Business Plan verification and assurance for the performance of the FRTs in the Directorate.

Accountable for the management and development of Fire Response team, such as Performance management, training and development. Ensuring firefighter skills and competencies are maintained at all times.

Focal point to assist Directorate with upkeep, development and Gap management of the Asset Pre-Incident Plans (PIPs). Assist the PIP project with the planning, execution and roll-out of the Directorate PIPs.

Manage, guide and support the Station Commanders Commanders in the Directorate, in the delivery of station workloads.

Support the Directorate as TA-3 Operational Fire Safety.

To perform the duties of Incident Commander for any operational incident as required, to prevent loss or damage to life, asset, local community and the environment, and able to liaise with asset operational staff and external emergency services.

Deliver customer operational interface for exercises and customer requests, by participating in the key Operational Directorate Meetings (i.e., AIPS meetings), and by proactively taking part in problem solving along with continuous improvement of the department.

Supports the Chief Fire Officer as required in budget and service resource management, and to ensure compliance with equipment servicing and maintenance schedules including the update and management of the SAP system.
