Wood is recruiting for a Senior Cost Estimation Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible to analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities, and material take-offs. Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and maintain estimating databases and cost forecasting.


Position is based in Sohar, Oman

Typical responsibilities


• Prepare and review CAPEX/OPEX cost estimates (Class 5 to Class 1) for Oil & Gas projects.
• Analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities, and material take-offs.
• Develop estimate basis, cost breakdowns, contingencies, and risk assessments.
• Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and maintain estimating databases.
• Support tender evaluations, vendor quotations, budgeting, and cost forecasting.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on funding, estimates, and investment decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and mentor junior engineers.

Experience:


  • Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline 
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry with 5 years of experience in similar role 
  • Experience in Refinery projects.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications.
