The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate accounting, timely financial reporting, effective financial controls, compliance with applicable regulations, and efficient management of financial transactions.
The role requires a highly experienced finance professional with strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, and practical experience in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:-
Assist the Finance Manager in managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting entries.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, bank transactions, and reconciliations.
Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
Monitor income and expenditure against approved budgets and highlight significant variances.
Ensure timely processing and verification of invoices, payments, receipts, journals, and other financial transactions.
Assist in maintaining effective internal financial controls and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial policies, and regulatory requirements in Oman.
Coordinate with internal departments regarding financial documentation, budgets, payments, and accounting matters.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required schedules, supporting documents, and financial information.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
Review financial data and identify discrepancies, errors, or unusual transactions.
Prepare financial analysis and reports using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial transactions in the ERP system.
Support the Finance Manager in improving financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
Supervise and guide finance/accounts staff when required.
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and organizational information.
Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager or senior management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
The relevant degree/certificate must be attested/approved by the Oman Association of Chartered Public Accountants (OACPA), as applicable.
Minimum 8 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in Finance & Accounts.
Valid experience letters/certificates must be available to substantiate the required experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliation, and internal controls.
Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, numerical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively coordinate with internal teams.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of accounting and financial practices applicable in Oman will be an advantage.
