Job Overview: The University Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality photographs that showcase the university's academic, research, student life, and community engagement activities. The Photographer works closely with the Media and Marketing team to produce compelling visual content that supports the university's branding, marketing, communication, and promotional objectives. The role involves planning, photographing, editing, and archiving images while ensuring consistency with the university's visual identity and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality photographs of university events, ceremonies, academic activities, laboratories, facilities, and student life.
- Plan and organize photography sessions in coordination with the Media and Marketing Department and other university departments.
- Edit, retouch, and optimize photographs for print, digital platforms, websites, publications, and social media.
- Ensure all photography reflects the university's branding guidelines and visual identity.
- Maintain and organize the university's digital photo library and archive.
- Manage photography equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and operational.
- Coordinate with videographers, graphic designers, and marketing staff to produce integrated marketing content.
- Photograph official university visits, conferences, workshops, and promotional activities.
- Recommend creative concepts and visual ideas for marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of photography projects according to agreed deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of image quality, composition, lighting, and editing.
- Follow copyright, privacy, and consent requirements when capturing and publishing photographs.
- Assist in producing promotional materials, publications, brochures, and annual reports through professional photography.
- Keep up to date with current photography trends, techniques, software, and equipment.
- Support social media and digital marketing initiatives by providing engaging visual content.
- Prepare and maintain records of photography assignments and completed projects.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to understand photography requirements.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance photography and visual communication skills.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Media and Marketing Director related to the role.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Photography, Media Production, Multimedia, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Must be a job seeker registered with the Ministry of Labor
- Must not have previously had a government-sponsored training opportunity
- The applicant must not be over 35 years old
- Less of 3 years of professional photography experience.
- Being familiar with both Arabic and English
- Excellent knowledge of professional photography techniques, lighting, and composition.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and other image editing software.
- Experience operating DSLR and mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and accessories.
- Strong creativity with excellent visual storytelling skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in event photography and institutional photography is preferred.
- Knowledge of branding and visual identity standards.
- Basic knowledge of videography is considered an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple photography assignments simultaneously.
- Physical ability to carry photography equipment and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
