A leading company is seeking a highly experienced Chief Accountant to join its finance department and take full ownership of the accounting function, with a strong focus on SAP ERP systems.

Position: Senior Chief Accountant

Experience Required: 15 years max 

Location: Kuwait - Al Sharq

Employment Type: Full-time

* Lead the operation and management of the SAP accounting system, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data and reports

* Manage the full accounting cycle including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

* Prepare and finalize year-end closing files, complete with supporting documents, reconciliations, certificates, and working papers

* Collaborate with external auditors to produce Financial Statements compliant with IFRS

* Generate and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management

* Oversee and approve accounts payable transactions, ensuring precision before General Ledger posting

* Perform monthly reconciliations for vendor accounts (including current liabilities, retention, and advances)

* Supervise payroll processing, employee benefits, and end-of-service indemnities

* Manage contractor payments aligned with contractual milestones and project progress

* Monitor and analyze budgets, comparing actual vs forecasted, and prepare variance analysis reports

* Prepare Percentage of Completion (POC) reports weekly/monthly for 10+ ongoing projects, including unbilled revenue and cost tracking

Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/CMA certification is a plus)

* 15–20 years of progressive experience in senior accounting roles

* Expert-level proficiency in SAP ERP and hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP

* Deep understanding of IFRS and local financial regulations

* Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and internal financial reporting

* Proven leadership and team management capabilities

* Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with auditors and senior leadership
