Médecins du Monde implements a project with the objective to protect and promote the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of population in Cairo and Giza, including refugees and migrants, at community and primary health care levels.
The project involves different activities with Ministry of Health and primary health care centers (PHCC) staff (doctors, nurses and social workers), partner NGOs, communities and beneficiaries.
The project focuses on the integration of MHPSS services within PHCC, NGO and community settings and includes capacity building for the staff of PHCCs and NGOs, health education and support services within the PHCCs and NGOs as well as advocacy activities promoting integration of mental health services at within a comprehensive primary health care package.
