Jumeirah Muscat Bay Resort lies 15 minutes south of the city centre and 40 minutes from Seeb International Airport. The overall development will include a 1,200 square meters Talise Spa, a diving centre, a wide range of sports and leisure facilities, a selection of restaurants, bars and cafes and a kids club. The resort will also include conference and banquet facilities to cater for Oman’s growing attraction as a destination for conferences, meetings and large-scale events. The resort forms part of a larger development that includes 300 high-end residential townhouses and villas, taking advantage of some of the most beautiful, unspoilt coastline in the Middle East.


About the role


An exciting role has arisen for a hard working Marketing & Communications Manager to join the pre-opening and Sales & Marketing department at Jumeirah Muscat Bay Resort. The main purpose of this role is to develop and implement the annual marketing plan working closely with Sales, Revenue, Operations and Jumeirah Group Marketing. To ensure the plan is delivered within the supplied marketing budget.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Develop, action, manage and measure the annual Marketing strategy, aligning closely with the annual Sales and Revenue strategies to ensure business targets and objectives are met.
  • Develop strategies that will assist the Sales and Revenue and Operational teams in achieving their targets month-on-month.
  • Development and management of Jumeirah Muscat Bay’s visual standards by working closely with Operations, Group Marketing and the appointed Agencies.
  • Ensure that the new standards are adhered to for all communication pieces used for Jumeirah Muscat Bay as well as across the Group.
  • Development and implementation of brands, visual standards guidelines and marketing plans for new products/service launches working closely with Group Marketing, Operations, Sales, Marketing Team and appointed Agency.
  • Development and management of an annual local and international PR plan working closely with Sales, Operations and Group PR to ensure the plan is aligned with their objectives.
  • Development of a crisis communication strategy and message as needed working closely with the General Manager and Group PR.
  • Oversee PR implementation by the Corporate Communications Team.
  • Management of PR interviews, hosted stays and entertainment in support of Group PR.
  • Ensure that Group PR has the tools and information needed to effectively represent Jumeirah Muscat Bay at all times.
  • Development and management of an annual advertising plan, working closely with Sales, Group Marketing and the appointed digital agency.
  • Development of suitable creative as per the plan, working closely with Group Marketing and the appointed advertising agency.
  • Oversee advertising implementation and recording by the Marketing Team.
  • Review and respond to ad hoc advertising requests.
  • Oversee campaign plan development, execution and management by the marketing team to ensure feasibility, practicality and alignment with objectives.
  • Oversee operational collateral development by the Marketing team to ensure feasibility, practicality and alignment with the new visual standards.
  • Development and management of an annual events plan, working closely with Sales, Group Partnerships and Group Public Relations.
  • Oversee event participation in instances where the Marketing team is tasked with event management.
  • Development of an online plan geared to ensure that Jumeirah Muscat Bay is suitably positioned and covered on the internet, working closely with the Group Online team.
  • Oversee online channel management (Jumeirah.com, Mercury, eNewsletters) by the Marketing Team.
  • Assess and continuously adapt the digital marketing activities in coordination with the Group Digital Team and the Jumeirah agency network.
  • Drive and optimize digital demand generation campaign.
  • Plan and manage budgets to achieve desired KPIs across all channels including Physical, Social, Search and Display, closely aligning the marketing activities with the properties commercial goals.
  • Development and implementation of an annual plan that utilizes all available channels, considering the sales objectives.
  • Development and implementation of a Partnership marketing plan aligned with sales objectives.
  • Oversee ad hoc partnership marketing request.
  • Development and implementation of an annual sponsorship plan, working closely with Group Sponsorships and Sales.
  • Review and respond to ad hoc sponsorship requests.
  • Conduct and action next steps for quarterly reviews.
  • Conduct and action next steps for annual appraisals.
  • Develop annual training, development and career progression plans.
  • Brainstorming of new ideas for planned marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Facilitation of idea generation for Voices for ideas that can be implemented across Operations.
  • Conduct weekly marketing status meetings to understand the progress of jobs on file.
  • Ensure order processes are followed and systems are kept clean and up to date.
  • Represent the hotel as Duty Manager approximately once per month as scheduled by the Executive Office.
  • Maintain positive and constructive working relations with Jumeirah Muscat Bay Operations, Jumeirah Group Marketing functions and fellow SBU Marketing Communications Managers.
  • Provide support to Group Marketing (global and GCC), Operations and Sales where needed.
  • Represent Jumeirah Muscat Bay at monthly Group Marketing Communications meeting.

About You


In order to be considered for this role, you should have a University Degree or equivalent, preferably in Hospitality or Marketing.


At least 3 – 5 years experience in a 5 Star Luxury Hotel in a Marketing role (Essential), or a combined Sales and Marketing role (preferable).
