Job Summary The Planning Engineer 1 assists the Project Planning Manager/ Sr. Planning Engineer by preparing, tracking and updating the project schedules and preparing reports with the objective of complying with the approved contract schedule. This position also assists with the preparation and/or of project time and cost claims. Job Responsibilities 1 Principal Accountabilities Assists the project and planning Department to accomplish the project goals. Prepares and submits master program of the project in consultation with Project Manager. Prepares and submits planning’s data to be incorporated to the submittal of Project Progress and ensures submission of weekly/monthly reports in coordination with Project Manager and Site Quantity Surveyor. Submits planning reports such as preparation of manpower requirements for the project, preparation of material procurement reports in accordance with approved program. Job Responsibilities 2 1. Participates in producing pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction, and completion schedules in order to depict the project and contractual requirements in compliance with the planning procedures. Analyzes project requirements Preparation of resource and cost loaded planning schedules Produces resource histograms for manpower, material and submittals2. Assists in tracking and updating information required for weekly, biweekly and monthly reports in order to monitor and report any variances from planned productivities and targets and ensure compliance as per the contract schedule Obtains data for reports. Prepares biweekly, monthly reports Prepares regular summary analysis of project status for regional management Gathers and analyzes data to record project duration and delays3. Reviews and evaluates the subcontractor’s schedules, reports and monitoring submittals in order to align the subcontracted items as indicated in the contract schedule. Provides feedback to the Project Planning Manager on subcontractor’s schedule‘s status.4. Participates in updating the Contract Schedule and progress monitoring portion of the monthly report as delegated by the superior in order to incorporate it in the monthly progress report submitted to the client and the management. Schedules Updates Progress monitoring and Reporting5. Assists in collating and tracking documentation relevant to the preparation of extension of time schedule in order to substantiate in the preparation of claims in coordination with Commercial Department and the Project team. To advise the Project Planning Manager/ Sr. Planning Engineer when delay events occur and produce an extension of time claim in coordination with the project team6. Ensures to highlight actual progress deviations from scheduled progress and the Baseline/ Approved Contract Schedule in order to analyze the impact to the over-all completion and advise on mitigating the delays. Advises the Project Planning Manager/Sr. Planning Engineer about the delay and the impact to the project completion7. Assists Planning Manager for generating baseline programs are per project requirements. Additional Responsibilities 3 Job Knowledge & Skills • Basic understanding and competency with CPM scheduling software (Oracle Primavera P6, Ms Project or Safran Planner).• Knowledge in Engineering Fundamentals• Knowledge in Principles and Practices of Planning• Knowledge in Principles and practices of research and data collection• Familiar with local and international standards in construction• Proficient in computer applications and systems• • ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
